Day 4 – Are We Dreaming?
It seems surreal that we are waking up this morning, and in just a few hours, we will be on the island of Bora Bora!
One last breakfast and a scramble to get all of our crap into suitcases begins our day. Our drive to the ferry is, of course, an adventure. Gas for the rental, drop Katie at the ferry, swing down the road to drop the rental car, and a hot run to the ferry by Scott to make it in time for the ferry back to Tahiti. Followed by a quick taxi ride to the airport to catch a short flight from Tahiti to Bora Bora, and we are officially off on our short flight.

We had been instructed exactly where to sit on this flight, front left to get the best view as we approach Bora Bora. After a bit of a delay at a hot, humid airport, the views didn’t disappoint. Seriously though, it’s open seat choice on the plane, left side on the way to Bora Bora!

Arriving in Bora Bora is quite unique. Tiny airport, with just a boat dock to take the landing passengers where they need to go. No roads or cars at this airport! Our picturesque blue boat grabs our luggage and takes us on our 15 minute ride.

So we have never been ones to create ‘bucket lists’, but upon arrival to our resort, it is the best way to explain the perfection that is the Four Seasons Bora Bora!
Live music to welcome us off the boat set the stage for an immaculate first evening. Hard to put into words the feeling of a perfect vacation spot, but we have found it.
Let’s start with our room, an overwater bungalow facing the mountains on the main island of Bora Bora. A flawless, dreamy setup, immaculately designed!

We are basically living on the lagoon, staring at Mt. Otemanu, a dormant volcano. This entire island is formed by an extinct volcano, surrounded by a lagoon and a reef system that creates one of the most pristine locations in the world! It’s a bit surreal to think we are halfway around the world, enjoying a destination that magazine covers dream of.

A chill evening of champagne, swimming off our dock, enjoying the resort grounds and pool, seeing one of the most incredible sunsets we have ever seen,

and room service for dinner!
Day 5 – Soak It In!
Because of the time change, we wake every morning before the sunrise, and we love it. Something a little extra peaceful and relaxing when you’re on vacation when you begin the day before sunrise. And let’s be honest, when you are literally staying in paradise, sleeping in is a sin!
So… when in Rome… I mean Bora Bora, you get a canoe to deliver you breakfast right?! A unique experience provided by the resort, and we jumped at this unique opportunity.

Throw in a couple of sea turtles coming by to say hello!

And that is how we started our first full day in paradise. Not too often do we plan days on vacation with no plans, but considering this location, that’s exactly what we had on our agenda. Soak in exactly what our resort had to offer.
Shortly after breakfast, we dive in for a swim off our dock to find a couple of sea turtles. Who can blame them, if we were sea turtles we would love here too.
This place is nothing short of jaw dropping perfection. And we spent the entire day in hot tubs, pools, snorkeling in lagoons, making bracelets, and lounging.

Add some wine and a cigar, and …
for a second night in a row, an incredibly majestic sunset!

And we pretty much conquered the perfect day!
