Day Six – Cannes & Antibes
Here we go, French Riviera! We start with a morning in Cannes. Quick stop at the famous film festival palace. The Cannes Film Festival just hosted its 77th annual event, bringing together the best in the film industry from around the world.

We follow the Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the coast, which is lined with beautiful, inviting beaches and beach clubs.
As we stroll down their boardwalk, we are in aw of the design and attention to detail in the numerous themed beach clubs. So we decide to stop and enjoy some coffee and relax at Hyde Beach.

After, we stroll the boujee streets of Cannes, passing every brand name, high end retailer you can think of. A sweaty, but nice walk through the streets, we eventually stop for lunch at a local cafe. Back to the heat for a second, it’s hot! And it has been hot our whole trip. Up side, it cools off at night enough to enjoy dinner outside and cool mornings to start the day. But midday, it’s blazing hot and has been all over France this trip (and we live in Florida)!

Maximizing our time here in the French Riviera by splitting the day, morning and lunch in Cannes, afternoon and evening in Antibes. Ideally, if money and time were endless, we’d spend a couple of days immersed in each. But considering how many desirable towns are along the coast of the French Riviera, we want to explore and experience as many as possible this week. Below is more Cannes shots, the Ritz Carlton, which of course we went into. And the cute promenades with splash pads to keep cool during the summer months.

After exploring Cannes, we take the quick drive over to Antibes. Another awesome old city surrounded by stone walls with an archway entrance. Once inside these old walls, the quaint walkways and alleys come alive with shops and restaurants.

Naturally, we stop at Galatissimo Antibes for a crepe with nutella, with Katie claiming it’s one of the best desserts she’s ever had!

We leave Antibes looking for a reprieve from these hot summer days, and I think we found the perfect spot, an evening swim in Billionaires Bay! The name says it all, officially named Cap d’Antibes, it is one of the most prestigious and most expensive places in all of France. One of the richest, Russian billionaire and Chelsea owner, owns a 15 million euro villa facing the Mediterranean Sea. For us, we will settle with a short walk, to a quick hike, and locate our own private cove to go for a swim. Perfectly refreshing, and our first swim on this adventure to the French Riviera in the Mediterranean Sea!

Hungry, we decide to take the short drive back to Antibes. We are greeted with a craft market at the archway entrance. Scott buys a new wedding ring, and Katie gets a new necklace. Random, but it worked for both of us :). We wrap up another great day with dinner at Le Cameo inside Antibes historic square

Day Seven – Eze & Nice
Drive, walk, explore, eat, repeat… this is basically our mission throughout the French Riviera. And today is a prime example of this. Eze, Nice, Eze x 2, Sainte-Jean-Cap-Ferret, and Villefranche all in one day!
Sleep in, drive up to Eze, drive down from Eze. Shouldn’t have slept in! Parking is no joke in this mountainside town. Literally, no where to park. Most people take the bus from Nice. So, we head out for now and go to plan B, check out Nice.
We arrive in Nice, where parking is a bit easier. Walk through the old city center, stroll down to the promenade, and have lunch at Beach Club Castel. Burrata and truffle pasta please! Impeccable settings for a relaxing afternoon.
Walk around the promenade, through the old city, and drive the rest of the promenade to enjoy some of the air conditioning our car is offering. We sure are logging some sweaty steps in!

At the foot of the French Alps, Nice lies on the coast of the Mediterrean Sea. Have to admit, we were a little surprised by the pebble beaches, not too much sand, but sure does have impressive blue waters along the coast. It’s location is a prime place to use as a central location for other stops on the Riviera, and that is exactly what we did today.
Eze take 2: We headed back up the coastal mountain, and stumble upon a parking spot near town. Evening arrival a little easier than midday.
Eze is a seaside town, nestled in the mountains between St Jean Cap Ferrat and Monaco. Dating back to the middle ages, it sits high above the Mediterrean Sea. Not sure you could sculpt a more perfect setting, highlighted by the attention to detail in the design and architecture. Easy to see why parking was a challenge in this labyrinth feeling maze of a village.

We captured some pretty cool drone shots from the mountainside looking down at the Mediterranean Sea as we were leaving town.

Leaving Eze, we cruise through the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, just another picture perfect French town. We decide on dinner in Villefranche-Sur-Mer. We suddenly realize, this is the best place we’ve been to along the French Riviera. Seaside town with narrow, vibrant, steep walkways, that offer a new, mesmerizing view at every turn. Prime choice for dinner at Olivula Mediterranean Cuisine. One piece of advice, get dishes with truffle. We have been doing our best, but Katie hit the jackpot tonight with truffle risotto. Impeccably delicious!

Three down, three more days to go soaking in the beautiful South of France!
Ps. Hi Sadie!! Thanks for reading our blog! Can’t wait to see you soon š
